“0102 – Contactless Interaction (study)” offers a sensitive exploration of the interactions between the viewer and digital matter, in which fluid materials interact with rigid bodies.
Aesthetics
The visual universe of this installation is inspired by the graphic approaches of David Carson, Mat Cook, Ralph Moore (Intro studio) and Vaughan Oliver. The organic and fragmented compositions, typographic treatment and photographic distortions of these designers have a direct impact on the overall aesthetics of the installation.

Technique

This interactive piece is based on the original writing of a TouchDesigner file.
It relies on an Intel D435 depth capture device, which allows for precise motion detection, translated in real time into fluid and dynamic visual transformations.
The work is based on a personal adaptation of various codes and principles:
- a fluid simulation in GLSL – inspired by Bruno Imbrizi’s transcription to TouchDesigner (see Jos Stam, NVidia, Pavel Dobryakov)
- and real-time physical dynamics – based on the Bullet Solver module integrated into TouchDesigner.
